Shimmeo Privacy Policy

Effective: July 2021

This privacy statement (“Privacy Policy”) explains the privacy practices of Shimmeo, Inc. (hereafter “Shimmeo”), the makers of WOO!, for users of the App and visitors to our website. Throughout the Privacy Policy, Shimmeo is otherwise referred to as the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”

Shimmeo's Commitment to Privacy

Shimmeo respects your right to privacy. Your ability to make informed choices about the uses of your information is important to us. This privacy statement explains Shimmeo's policy regarding the collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal information. The terms of this Privacy Policy apply to information collected from you unless you agree to different terms specified as part of a special offer or in another form or contract we provide you.

What is Personal Information?

"Personal Information" is information that can be directly associated with a specific person or entity or information that you may choose to provide to us. Personal Information does not include “Aggregate Information.” Aggregate Information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or customers, from which individual customer identities have been removed. In other words, information about how you use a service may be collected and combined with information about how others use the same service, but no Personal Information will be included in the resulting data. Likewise, information about the products or services you use or purchase may be collected and combined with information about the products and services used or purchased by others, but no Personal Information will be included in the resulting data. Aggregate Information helps us understand trends and customer needs so that new products and services can be considered and so existing products and services can be tailored to customer desires.

Creating a WOO! Account and Profile Information

When you create a WOO! account, you must provide access credentials either in the form of an email address and password, or phone number and password, or by authentication using another service, such as Twitter or Facebook (hereafter “Account Information”). You may optionally provide us with additional profile information, including a short bio, location, and profile picture (the additional profile information and the Account Information hereafter, collectively, the “Profile Information”). If you create your WOO! account by connecting through another service, we may use public information from that connected account to help complete your WOO! profile. You may update or modify your Profile Information and Account Information at any time. Profile Information is available publicly on our Services.

Connecting to Other Services, Finding Friends and Sharing

Our Services include several features to help you find the accounts of people you already know. For example, you may upload information from your address book or connect your WOO! account to your account on another service (hereafter “Linked Platform”) such as Twitter or Facebook. WOO! may match the information you provide with the name and Profile Information of other WOO! users. When you connect your WOO! account to other services, you may be able to post your Content to those services as well. You may disconnect your WOO! account from any one of your accounts on other services at any time. Disconnecting your WOO! account will immediately revoke our authorization to cross-post on your behalf or otherwise access the disconnected account.

WOO! is a video sharing platform. As such, you should have no expectation of nondisclosure of videos or other material you post or that is attached to such materials you post (hereafter “Publicly Disclosed Content”). This includes not only the content that you post and data provided with such content, such as when it was posted, a location where the video was made, and a location from where the posting was made, but also includes the users you follow, your comments and hashtags, the videos that you like, and other public interactions on the Services. Your public information is widely and instantly disseminated.

Other Information We Collect

We may collect and store details of how you use our Services, including how you navigate through the App, which search queries you use and so on. This information may be used to improve the relevancy of results provided by our Services. Except in limited instances to ensure quality of our Services over the Internet, such information will not be associated with your Internet Protocol (IP) address. An IP address is a unique number automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider and readable by others on the Internet whenever you are on the Internet.

We may collect data (“Device Information”) about how you use your device and applications in order to help our app developers improve the App. If we do combine non-personal information with Personal Information the combined information will be treated as Personal Information for as long as it remains combined.

You may also tell us your exact location if you choose to enable your mobile device to send us location information. We may use and store information about your location to provide features of our Services, such as tagging a video with a location, and to improve and customize the Services, for example, with Content that has been tagged near your location. We may keep track of how you interact with links across our Services, including our email notifications, third-party services, and client applications, by redirecting clicks or through other means. We do this to help improve our Services, for example to provide relevant advertising, and to be able to share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on.

Use of Personal Information

The Personal Information we collect includes your name, Account Information, Profile Information, IP Address, Publicly Disclosed Content, and is used to process your requests or transactions, to provide you with high quality service, to customize your use of the Services according to your preferences, and to tell you about specific goods or services we believe will be of interest to you.. You agree that Company may use Personal Information about you to analyze the usage of the Services, improve or customize Company's Service, customize the Services' content, and as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy. You also agree that Company may use your Personal Information to contact you. Unless you specifically opt out, you also agree that Company may use your Personal Information to contact you and deliver information to you that, in some cases, is targeted to your interests, such as targeted advertisements, administrative notices, product offerings, and communications relevant to your use of the App, Site or Service. By accepting the Terms and this Privacy Policy, you expressly agree to be so contacted and to receive such information, unless you specifically opt out in applicable circumstances.

Any Personal Information or content that you voluntarily disclose in the App may become publicly available and may be collected and used by others. Your username or your Linked Platform username may be displayed to other users of the App when you upload content or send messages using the Services. Any content that you submit to the Services may be redistributed online and on other media channels, and may be viewed by the general public.

Sharing of Personal Information

In some cases, we may share some of your Personal Information with carefully selected third parties in order to provide some of the Services. For example, we may share your Device Information with other parties in order to send you “Push” notifications, or we may store some of your Personal Information on third party servers in order to provide the best possible service. In all of these cases, the third parties are carefully screened and bound to the same restrictions on the use of your Personal Information as described here, and the third parties may not use your Personal Information for their own purposes.

The complete security of any Personal Information collected, stored or used by us cannot therefore be guaranteed. If your account for the Services or your account with a Linked Platform is hacked, this may lead to unauthorized access to your account for the Services and viewing of your user content associated with the Services, so be careful to keep your platform Account Information secure. In the unlikely event that an unauthorized third party compromises Company's security measures, Company will not be responsible for any damages directly or indirectly caused by an unauthorized third party's ability to view, use or disseminate such information.
